OUR TEAM

I started Tandem PV because we are developing a unique product that can provide the winning  trifecta of more sunlight-to-electricity power, lower clean energy costs, and lower manufacturing resource requirements.

Technical, strategic and operational challenges that Tandem PV faces are a good match to what I’ve been doing for four decades in the solar industry.  The tasks fit my skills and my passions.

As TPV’s Managing Director I’ve split my focus between strategy and day-to-day infrastructure, e.g. product concepts, market sector focus, operational tools, necessary materials, lights on, payrolls met, etc. Lately I’ve been shifting more towards scaling and preparations for volume manufacturing.

"Tandem PV technology could actually change the world"

I had the opportunity to be at the forefront of a new technology in graduate school and in the right place/right time to write the seminal works on perovskite-based tandems.

As I was getting ready to graduate, no established solar companies were seriously considering this new material yet and I had particular ideas about low-risk integration and low-cost development that the other startups at the time were not pursuing that I believe are instrumental to the commercial success of perovskite-based tandems.

I am the CEO, which at a small company like Tandem PV involves wearing 3 to 10 different hats on a given day to keep the company well funded and staffed and developing in the right directions.

I really want to see this technology become transformational to the solar industry and our global aspirations for low-cost, sustainable energy and electricity throughout the world, and founding Tandem PV was and is the best way for me to achieve that goal.
